A Cut Above History and Commitment

Since their childhood, Will Perkins and Chris Baseheart enjoyed the beauty of the great outdoors. Whether it was their bike rides through Rockfield, KY, or their weekend camping trips, they loved being outside.

As teenagers, they found that there was money to be made cutting grass—and they got to be outside while they did it. Little did they know that seeds were being sewn that would lead them toward careers in lawn care.

After graduating from Western Kentucky University in 1997, Will started A Cut Above and operated it with a very small crew for the next three years. Their primary focus was lawn mowing and trimming.

During this time, Chris worked for a lawn care chemical company. When he bought in to Will’s company in 2001, he brought expertise that allowed the company to begin offering full service maintenance and chemical services—A Cut Above Lawn Care.

Today, A Cut Above has a 13-man crew and a client list that includes large commercial clients as well as private homes. They keep their crew licensed and up to date on the latest trends in lawn care. Will and Chris are glad to stay involved with day-to-day operations.

On the weekend, you’re likely to find Will, Chris and their families on Barren River Lake spending their time, not surprisingly, outside. They are passionate about enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors and creating beautiful outdoor scenes for all of their clients.
